REBECCA HEWETT - FARMER

Rebecca Hewett is an Executive Producer with 15 years of experience in television, working across scripted and non-scripted comedy for channels including the BBC, Sky and Comedy Central. Rebecca spent 6 years in the commissioning team at Paramount, working across Comedy Central, MTV and BET, in her time at the company she has set up their in house production and been responsible for commissioning and overseeing a huge slate of both scripted and non-scripted content. She has been committed to telling stories that help use comedy to have the difficult conversations, promote better representation on and off screen and nurture new talent.

 In her time at Paramount, Rebecca has pioneered original production, commissioning new scripted series with Ryan Sampson, Jordan Gray and Nigel Ng, as well as overseeing comedy formats such a Comedians Solve World Problems and Drunk History Black Stories, an adaptation of the US format that championed all black stories. Rebecca's first scripted commission Transaction with Jordan Gray won a Broadcast Digital Award for best new scripted shortform, and Drunk History Black Stories won a Broadcast Digital Award for Best Shortform Format. Rebecca was a Broadcast Hot Shot in 2022.

 

Having completed her Masters at RADA, she worked on many of the UK's biggest programmes including ‘Eastenders', 'Britain's Got Talent', 'Take Me Out', ‘Miranda', 'Up The Women', 'Upstart Crow' and 'Still Open All Hours'. 

 

Rebecca has produced an abundance of work with some of the UK’s most exciting digital talent, including two seasons of sitcom - 'Jack and Dean Of All Trades' (starring Jessica Hynes), a Sky Arts musical for The Midnight Beast‘PrankMe' starring Disney star Corey Fogelmanis. Rebecca works extensively with new exciting digital talent and has been working as in house Development Executive for MVE Management across many of their key comedy stars including George Clarke, Kyron Hamilton, Abi Mills, Josh Berry and Caroline Parker.

Rebecca has been consulting with a number of production companies on moving their content into the digital space, including Shush Films and Working Title.

Rebecca was recently the Film Unit Producer on the first series of SNL UK working with Tina Fey, Jimmy Fallon, Jamie Dornan, Aimee Lou Wood and many other leading comedy talent.
